I have been designing and making jewellery for over 10 years, following a career in teaching. Initially all my work comprised pieces made with semi-precious gemstone beads combined with sterling silver to make one-off designs, but as my interest in form and texture has developed I have introduced more precious metal pieces into my portfolio. All of my work is now either in the form of one-off pieces or small limited editions. My main inspiration for form and proportion comes from nature; particularly sea life & fossils & I love the range & diversity of semi-precious stones, many of which are works of art in their own right; no two are ever alike! Use of these natural materials in naturally inspired form and textures allows the creation of beautiful individual pieces. All pieces requiring hallmarking are provided through the Sheffield Assay Office and, therefore, carry the Yorkshire Rose hallmark of that office as well as my own individual mark. Individual pieces are supplied in presentation boxes with Certificates guaranteeing their unique nature and giving a description of materials used.
